Happy Memorial Day!

Hope you had a good holiday weekend.  I'm writing this as I'm about to head over to my landlord's house for dinner (pork butt is on the menu...yes!).

Just wanted to share some pics.

Friday I took off so I could sleep in for once (been a busy few weeks at work and it has wore me out) and to hit the beach!  So I went with my friend and her kiddos.  I also bought a new beach towel which I love!

I fiddled with the photo of me and my friend because my 'no hair' look made me look not so awesome.  So I had to pretty it up some.

Then Saturday, I didn't do a whole lot.  Just did like 5 loads of laundry and organized a lot.  Sunday I went to church.  I wore my new Rebecca Taylor dress (original price $400 - got it for nothing because I had won a gift card).  The belt is mine and it definitely makes it look way cuter.  And then after church I hit my friend's inlaws pool and we grilled out and had ribs, wings, and pork chops.  YUM.

100k+ Views On My Blog

Um....this is unreal!  After a little over 3 years blogging, I've had over 100,000 views!  Amazing!  Thank you, everyone!!!

Check Out This Blog If You're Going Gray ~~ Highland Fashionista

For anyone who has gray hair and wants to or is growing it out, this blog, Highland Fashionista (see the link below), is a little bit of inspiration.

Sometimes I feel like the only one growing out my gray!  I am only 37 but have a ton of gray and just got so sick and tired of going to the hair salon every month (can't dye it myself because I end up staining my whole bathroom!).  In addition, I felt the need to accept myself the way I am.  Gray hair and all.  So I currently have 10 months of growth.

While I don't think my gray is as much as Kristin's (the blogger below), it does have that raw edge between the growth and the dyed hair.  My dyed hair is brassy orangish/red.  My regular hair is ashy brown with all that gray.

I do relate to her saying that people probably always are thinking maybe I should hit the salon.  I had a coworker recently tell me she had extra boxes of hair dye if I wanted some!  Not sure if that was a dig or what.  Sometimes innocent comments just feel like digs because it is a vulnerable experience growing your gray out.  And guys definitely like to comment on me having gray hair.  It is so weird.  Why do they even care??  But they, more than anyone, seem to notice it or at least speak out about it more.  I guess it is unusual to see someone my age (I actually probably look younger) to have all this gray.  It definitely is hard to accept it yourself when the culture we live in doesn't seem to want to accept it.  Well...they better get over it!  My gray is here to stay!

Check out the blog below if you're going through what I'm going through - and check out here recent blog posts - her gray is grown out now and it looks GORGEOUS.  She gives me hope for sure.

Cancer June 2015 Tarot Horoscope - #Love

Looks like us Cancerians might have some good stuff happening in the love department in June.  Fingers crossed! :)

Didn't Make It On #BB17

So I wasn't contacted therefore I apparently have not been picked.  Such a bummer!  Everyone I know got excited for me and I sort of feel like I let them down in a way.  Oh well...I'll try again next year.

I also saw that the next Survivor is all past contestants so no wonder I didn't get a call for that.  I feel like I'm wasting my time!  But you know I'll try again next year.

Never give up!

In other news, I went to the beach today with my friend Kelly and her kiddos!  Had a great time like we usually do.  Here's a pic:

2 Weeks on Armour

Well today is 2 weeks on Armour.  Not really impressed at all.  The only positive thing is I think it has reduced my bloating.  My clothes don't fit any better so maybe not?  Just seems that way I guess.  My brain has definitely NOT been helped by Armour so far.  In fact, my brain seems worse!  It might just be because my job has gotten so intense lately.  Not sure.  And my exhaustion issue I've had since late 2009 is still there.  But hey - I'll continue to take it if it really reduced my bloat.  lol

Weekly May 18, 2015 Angel Oracle Card Soul Reading

Sounds like good things in store for us this week!  What have you been wishing for?  Because it may be coming true this week!  Be open!

One Week on Armour

Just wanted to update you guys on me taking Armour now.  I honestly haven't seen a real bit of difference.  The side effects have gone away thank goodness.  No extra energy or anything like that.  My brain might be working a little bit better but I'll have to get back to you on that.  Other than that, nothing much exciting to tell you about it.  So it is currently Synthroid = Armour.  At least in my case.  But again..it is only one week in.

After 15 Years on Synthroid, I Finally Switched to Armour

Yes - I have finally switched to Armour as of last night.  15 years of going from doctor to doctor...always throwing Synthroid at me.  So I had a friend who went to this endocrinologist and he put her on Armour.  I've always read in the 'thyroid circles' that endos really only care about the diabetes patients because that is where the money is!  So I've been very hesitant to try that out.

But I made an appointment anyways and the guy thinks Armour might help - although he himself takes Synthroid and doesn't really believe in Armour but says it does seem to help 5-10% of patients.  Ok, doc - whatever you say!

So I actually am the perfect candidate for it according to the 'thyroid circles.'  My Free T4 is in the high part of the range...my Free T3 is in the low part of the range...and my Reverse T3 is almost out of the range - high.

So we'll see how it goes.  I have been on Synthroid (T4) and Cytomel (T3) before (at my request to my MD many years ago) but I felt like Cytomel wasn't helping so I got off of it.

I took Armour last night which I will switch it to the morning because it caused me to toss and turn all night (due to the active T3 I guess).  I am extra agitated today which I recognize as another T3 symptom.  Possibly too much...or that my body just isn't used to it yet.  So I'll give it time but I really am not a fan of being angry/agitated.  I like my calm self.  I don't feel better overall yet but then again - I need to give it time.  Or maybe it is just the same ol' song and dance.

We shall see!

Some Updates

So I just wanted to update y'all since I've been MIA.  Just been busy with life (work and after work stuffs).

Work has been bananas lately and will only get worse as the end of fiscal year comes about (September 30th for the Government).  I have 10 years with the Government so you would think I'd be used to it but I've always been in a position where it hasn't really mattered until now.  But I will be able to accumulate comp time when I work over so maybe I can start saving some of my leave for future vacations for once.

I tried out for Big Brother a few weeks ago.  Went down to Gainesville (Florida) and it was just a small 'try out' so they just had me talk into a video camera for 2 minutes.  2 minutes wasn't nearly enough time but I tried to have a lot of energy and tell them about myself.  Obviously, it didn't work.  lol  Today was the deadline of them calling you to say you made it to the next round.  No calls here.  Oh and jokes on me - I actually got a phone call from a 626 area code (LA area) and I flipped out!!!  But it was a dude telling me the prize I won back in January ($500 gift card) wasn't valid anymore cuz the store went out of business.  Nice.  First of all, they got my hopes up that they were Big Brother and then to give me bad news?  Nice.

Anyways - don't wanna make this blog post long.  I've just been hanging out...doing church things like softball (playoffs are tomorrow all day!)...hanging with my friend and her family...grilling out...pool time...and beach time.  Busy life...love it here in Florida!

Have a good one, guys!
