Week 8 P90X3

Today starts Week 8 of P90X3 which is the 'recovery' week of Phase II.  Here is what I do every time I do P90X3:

abs #p90x3

Haha!

No six pack here just yet.  I am getting buffer than I have been ever!  Which is sort of cool.  To see your body be able to get like that is pretty amazing.

I do struggle on some days where I just wanna lay on the couch and be a blob.  But this is P90X3...not P89X3.  :)

Everybody can spare 2% of their day to exercise. P90X3, in just 30 minutes a day. #p90x3 #beachbody

So anyways...today was Isometrix.  Last time I did this, I HATED it.  It is like taking all the hardest moves of yoga and holding them for 45 seconds.  Killer.  Although, now that I'm stronger, I actually am liking it.

Although I did have some issues.  With the planks, I felt like I was going to have a hernia!  Then doing the Tree Pose, I somehow loosened my leg from my hip bone?  Or least that is what it felt like.  I've actually had something happen to me before after running when I twisted the wrong way getting out of my car.  The 'dislocation' or whatever it was, was way worse then.  It seems to be back in place now. lol  Oh, and they we had these moves that were like downward dog but one hand and leg up at a time - so I kept thinking my other arm was going to snap backwards.  It was kind of sketchy for a few moments there.  But I survived.

Some Updates

It is FRIDAY!  This is me after work.  Happy!

I'm still doing P90X3 (Mass Schedule).  I believe today is day 46 so I'm halfway thru!  Yay!  Here is my arm a week or so ago:

And here is what I want my arms to look like at the 90 day mark:

I'm on my way to having arms like this. #p90x3 halfway there!!!

AWESOME! lol

Also, today marks 4 weeks zero carb.  I am still in ketosis (not keto-adapted yet).  I bought some bacon, pork rinds, and lard from U.S. Wellness Meats the other day.  Pork Rinds are AMAZING.  The bacon isn't cured and the only ingredient besides pork is salt.  I'll use the lard to fry steak.

Today I bought a larger George Foreman grill so I can make up to 8 burgers at a time!  So I can make all my burgers for work all in one shot now.  So much easier!

Oh, and this last Sunday I was on John Edward's Evolve show (JohnEdward.net) asking a question about what astrology books/software he recommends.  I'm famous! ;)

Now if I could on get on Big Brother 16, my life would be complete.

And last but certainly not least, I bought Eric Church's new cd "The Outsiders" today.  I watched a special on it and he kept saying it was different and pushed the limits.  So needless to say I was nervous to buy it.  But I love the guy, so I bought it anyways!  I need a new jam for my car rides to/from work.

One word - AMAZING!!!!!!!!

I love EVERY SINGLE SONG.  Seriously!!!!!  It is currently on heavy rotation right now.  I am just smitten.

Have a good weekend, y'all!

Tarot Cards

I've had tarot cards since probably my late teens.  Recently, I've wanted to get into them some more so the last 2 days I've been pulling a card or two for myself just asking a general question like "What do you want me to know today."

I know you guys might not care about the cards I pull for myself but I think blogging about them will help me and those who are interested on what the cards mean when I pull them.  I actually found a great website that explains all the cards in pretty good details.  You can go HERE to check it out.  Pretty good stuff.

So anyways, this is the card I pulled for myself today:

So what does this card mean for me?  If you check out that website, it could mean many things.  It is actually a very good card.  Some tarot readers refer to it as the Wish Card.  Which I think is pretty cool.

I think what it (hopefully) reflects in my life is the meaning of that whatever my heart's desire is, it shall be granted in the coming days.  This may mean it might not be exactly what I expected but I will get what I want.  Which, I can only assume it will have to do with my career because I've been trying to get a job closer to my family and friends.  So fingers crossed!

It can mean other things as well:
  • Emotionally fulfilling situation.
  • Friendships solidified.
  • Joy and happiness are within grasp.
  • Steady foundation for the future.
  • Happy with what you have.
  • Excellent health.
So I think this is a very good card for me to get!  Thanks for learning along with me.  I plan to post many more of these because I would love to be able to read these cards by memory someday rather than going to a website.

3 Weeks Eating Zero Carb

So today marks 3 weeks on strict zero carb.  Eating just meat (mostly fatty) and that is it.

I'm down to 116.6lbs.

So what do I exactly eat?  Here's a list of items I eat on the regular:
  • Ground Beef (preferably 73/27 or 80/20) - fat is good.  I make beef patties on a George Foreman type of grill.  This is a staple in the way I eat.  I crave this over anything else and it keeps me full.
  • Steak chunks (fried in bacon grease - bacon that has not been cured in sugar).
  • Bacon (not cured in sugar).
  • Pork chunks (fried in bacon grease).
  • Chicken breast (fried in bacon grease).
  • A small amount of fish and shrimp.  I usually eat beef patties with this so I'm full for a good period of time.
  • Bone broth (made only of bones).  Want the recipe?  See HERE.
  • Beef jerky (made only with salt from U.S. Wellness Meats).
I drink water when I'm thirsty.  I still drink one cup or so of caffeinated coffee each morning.  I've cut back on the decaf I've drank but would like to cut back even more.  I've had to cut out plain unflavored decaf ice tea due to it increasing my hunger.

I'm still not keto-adapted yet.  But they say it can take up to 2 months.  I feel much better without all those crappy carbs.  I was even on a low amount of carbs for years and they still affected me significantly.

If you would like to learn more about Zero Carb, there is a discussion forum you can check out HERE.

Day 30 - P90X3 Eccentric Lower and 30 Day Comparison Pics!

Today is Day 30 of P90X3!  60 more days to go!  Today was Eccentric Lower.  Basically doing eccentric lower body movements with weights.  I actually really liked it.  I normally hate squats and lunges but I guess now that I'm actually somewhat fit, they aren't so bad.

Today was also 30 day picture time!  I am going to share a couple with you so you can see.  Now remember, my diet is what some consider to be extreme, so that definitely helped me get to where I am on Day 30.

I also weighed myself for the first time in a year and a half.  I think in my before photos I'm about 123-125lbs.  I am 5'1".  Today I weighed in at 118.4lbs.  Yay!

Week 5 - P90X3 - Day 29 - Eccentric Upper

So today was the start of Week 5 of P90X3 and the start of the good stuff for me!  Weights, weights, weights!!!

Today was arm day.  I liked most of it.  I cannot for the life of me do military pushups or plyo ones!  But I rocked the workout anyways.  I get to do this twice a week.  Tomorrow is leg day (probably with weights).  I do that one also twice a week with Yoga on Wednesday and MMX on Saturday which I think is boxing.  Loving this Phase for sure.

Check out my guns after 29 days!

2014 Goals So Far...

The SITS Girls Blog has some writing prompts for February so I thought I'd attempt to do them all or at least try.

February 1st - Update your readers on your 2014 goals. How are things going? Are you staying on track or facing some challenges?

So my main goal was to start P90X3.

P90X3 Review - Week 4 Results

I haven't missed a workout and I'll be through with Week 4 after today.  Today will be Yoga which isn't so bad.  Anyways, I guess I have 9 more weeks to go!  I am definitely seeing more definition in my arms and my legs look more muscular.  No six pack abs yet.

But this is me when I do the weights workouts:

My other goal was to basically stop eating ice cream.  haha!  I eat the really healthy kind but it still affects me negatively.  Haven't ate any ice cream since around New Years Day.  And then this last week (last Saturday), I went strict zero carb (meat/water only).  Fat is the name of the game.  Anyways, so today is a whole week of doing that.  Already lost a pant size, which is nuts!

So overall my goals are going really well.  Yay!
